Thirsty Thursays with Snor

Easy Fried Tokwa't Tokwa (Tofu&Tofu) Pulutan Recipe paired with our favorite San Miguel Pale Pilsen

What makes this an quick and easy recipe is that we are skipping one main ingredient from the original Tokwa't Baboy (Fried Tofu and Pork dish). Don't be mad. We will top it with some tasty sauce. It is also great for your vegetarian friend sharing a drink with you. We will pair it with San Miguel Pale Pilsen since Pilsners go great with food with its light body. The sweet and tart sauce from the tofu will be coupled with the bittersweet taste of this Filipino classic beer.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Pack of pre-fried tofu cut in half.

1 Lime

1/2 cup of Sinamak (special spiced) vinegar

2 Tbsp soy sauce

1 green onion

1 tsp Sesame Oil

1 to 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

1 dash white pepper

1 dash Cayenne Pepper

1 dash Ginger Powder

Canola oil

Preparation Time:

5 minutes

Cooking Time:

10 minuted

DIRECTIONS:

> cut the prefried cubes of tofu in half.

> heat your wok with about a cup of oil to medium fry the tofu.

> Dice your green onions. Separate the greener diced pieces to the side for toppings.

> Once the oil is hot medium fry your tofu until crisp.

> In a bowl, mix the vinegar, squeezed lime juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, white part of the green onion, cayenne pepper, ginger powder, white pepper, and brown sugar into a sauce.

> once the tofu is done, let it rest for a minute. Top with the rest of the green onions and the mixed sauce.

> enjoy with an ice cold pilsner. In this case a Pale Pilsen.
